REACH-Regulation
REACH is a European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. At the same time, REACH aims to improve the innovation and competitiveness of the EU chemical industry.
SR SYSTEM-ELEKTRONIK GmbH is committed to ensuring that all our products comply with the latest safety regulations and standards. Various electronic and mechanical components are used in the manufacture of our products.
As these components come from worldwide sources, we have to rely on the declarations of conformity of our suppliers.
We actively approach our suppliers to ensure that all our components, assemblies and metal products are always state of the art and comply with the latest standards.
The regulation states that manufacturers and importers of articles (products) are obliged to inform their customers about the presence of substances of very high concern (SVHC) in their products of more than 0.1 percent by weight.
The guidance documents of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) propose two methods to obtain the necessary information to verify compliance: 1) Proactive enquiries in the supply chain or 2) Chemical analyses. ECHA's guidance also explains that chemical analysis is only helpful in certain situations and can lead to ambiguous results. As this can be very costly, we rely on proactive requests in the supply chain.
Based on the enquiries to our suppliers, SR SYSTEM-ELEKTRONIK GmbH can declare that our products comply with the requirements of the substance restrictions according to Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation. As far as can be traced, our products do not contain any of the substances listed in the REACH candidate list as of 14 June 2023 (date of the last new additions) in a concentration of more than 0.1 mass percent (w/w). This declaration is based solely on the information provided to us by our suppliers.
